Oppo has announced the Oppo K1 for the Indian market. The Oppo K1 is part of a brand new series from the company and it will be an online series only in India. This is part of a multi-channel strategy as the company seeks to strengthen its online presence as much as its offline presence. The biggest selling point of the Oppo K1 is that it is the cheapest phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone also features a teardrop display and gradient color design, along with a powerful mid-range Snapdragon 600 series chipset.
The price of the Oppo K1 in India has been set at Rs 16,990 for the 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The phone will be available on Flipkart from February 12 and will be available in two color variants – Piano Black and Astral Blue. Oppo also offers a 90% cash value of up to Rs 15,300 for a period of 8 months. Customers can also benefit from an additional bank discount of Rs 1,690 for up to 8 months.
Oppo K1 specifications
Much like the Oppo F9 Pro, the Oppo K1 showcases an edge-to-edge display with a teardrop-shaped notch and a glass and metal finish. The Oppo K1 sports a 6.4-inch AMOLED FHD + (1080×2340) display with 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, over 90% screen-to-body ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 above.
The USP of the Oppo K1 is that it brings an integrated fingerprint sensor at an affordable price. It is currently the only phone under Rs 20,000 to offer an in-display fingerprint sensor, which makes it quite unique.
The Oppo K1 is powered by a capable Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone comes with 64 GB of built-in storage with support for expandability up to 256 GB via a microSD card. The handset houses a 3,600mAh battery with support for 10W charging via a micro-USB port.
The dual camera setup on the back is organized in the same way as the Oppo F9 Pro. It includes a 16 MP primary sensor with f / 1.7 aperture and a 2 MP secondary sensor for depth detection. Up front, the Oppo K1 gets a typical 25 MP selfie camera with an f / 2.0 aperture.
